Adoptable Cats

- Chauncey
-
This little orange gentleman from New Orleans was a sad case when dragged from the floodwaters of Katrina. Terrified, infected with parasites, requiring an operation on his leg, and just generally a mess, he acted like he was a wild cat! But once he settled down in the sanctuary, he became a little gentleman.
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Likes: To sit up as high as he can and watch what's happening in the Sun Room and the Back Room.

- Peekaboo
-
Peekaboo is one of our feral cats. He’s an older cat, probably around 11 years old. Being feral, he doesn’t come around too much, but we see him enough to know he’s doing well. He spends most of his time hiding in the protected outdoor area or hanging out with the other cats in the Sun Room.
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Likes: I vant to be alone!

- Rose
-
Rose was discovered living just off the CARE grounds in the desert. After moving into the CARE facility, she decided she was the Queen of CARE. She is very friendly to humans, but picky when it comes to her own kind. After living at CARE for a few years, She’s finally getting along with most of the other cats – tolerating them would be a better evaluation!
Breed: Domestic Medium Hair
Likes: Being the Queen of all she sees.
Dislikes: Having to trouble herself with others.

- Mischief
-
Guess how Mischief got her name!! She’s always sticking her nose into things and every time you look around, Mischief is there. If she could talk, she’d probably be the neighborhood gossip.
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Likes: The dish!

- Valentine
-
Valentine was born on Valentine’s Day and is one of our favorites. She’s always ready to sit on your lap, have her ears scratched or her tummy rubbed. If you’re having a bad day, Valentine will help to make it better.
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Likes: Loving attention.

- Buttercup
-
Buttercup is a sweetheart who is always looking for food. Walk into the room with a food tray in your hand and there’s Buttercup. She’s a friend to all, human and animal, but sometimes likes her own space.
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Likes: You guessed it - FOOD!

- Sox
-
Sox got his name because he has white paws on his front legs and white feet on his rear legs . He’s very friendly and loves getting and giving affection.
Breed: Domestic Medium Hair
Likes: Being with friends!
Dislikes: Being at adoption programs.

- Ghost
-
A bit of a quiet loner, Ghost likes to keep to himself. He comes around when there’s good food available. When the food is gone, he disappears. However, he got his name because of his light colored eyes – mint-green.
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Likes: DINNER! DINNER! DINNER!
Dislikes: Being the center of attention

- Macy & Gracie, Sisters
-
Gracie and Macy are sisters. Rescued as day old kittens, their mother had died very soon after giving birth. Rosa, our lead medical tech, fed the kittens every few hours for days and nights using a baby bottle with kitten formula. It was touch-and-go for awhile, but the kittens survived and are now big, healthy, 2 year old adults. Rosa, Gracie, and Macy have provided CARE with another success story.
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Likes: Each other!
Dislikes: They are very easy-going.

- DeeDee
-
Tiny tortie with a million dollar personality!! DeeDee is one of the grand old ladies of CARE. We think she’s about ten years old. She’s put on a lot of weight lately – already up to about 4 pounds! Really, DeeDee is quite tiny, but her personality is very big. She’ll push her way to the food tray past bigger cats. And, she eats like a horse! DeeDee has upper respiratory problems and frequently sneezes. She’s probably allergic to cats!! DeeDee is one of our favorites.
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Likes: To eat, to love, to be petted
Dislikes: Anything that gets between her and the food tray.
Bravo!
